Who We Are
The Heart of a Child Fund was inspired by Baby Ben, Dawn Mitchell's son who died sadly after a normal, healthy, full term pregnancy with no pre-warning in 2003. The cause of death was a very rare heart condition called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome which effects 1 in 5000 babies worldwide and 1-200 babies in Ireland & England yearly!
Our Aims
1)To Create Public Awareness in Ireland of The Congenital Heart Condition called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome and lobby for better scanning for pregnant women in Ireland.
2)To Establish A Centre for Healing for the Bereaved.
3) To Support other Children's Non-Profit Organizations
5)To Establish a Drop in Centre for Children.
4)To Establish a Homeless Shelter for Street Kids in South Africa
